Periodical Collection

Rolfing Library has approximately 1,300 current periodical subscriptions. Most of these subscriptions are for printed magazines, journals, newsletters, and newspapers, but we also receive some of our periodical content on microfilm and microfiche. In addition, we provide online access to more than 9,000 titles. Information about all our periodical titles can be found by searching TrinCat. TrinCat lists the complete holdings for each title and is instantly updated when we receive new issues.

Finding Periodicals

For print periodicals, TrinCat divides the library’s holdings into Recent Issues and Library Holdings. Recent Issues are located near the front entrance in hanging files. Issues listed in Library Holdings are arranged alphabetically by title on shelves on either side of the main staircase. Periodicals on microfilm and microfiche are in cabinets in the media room. If you need assistance or cannot find a specific issue, please ask a reference librarian for assistance. He or she may have you fill out a search form for the periodical staff who will search for the missing issue.

Using Periodicals

Rolfing does not circulate its periodical collection. Please use the periodicals in the library or photocopy articles for research use. Return all periodicals to the Book Return slot in the middle of the front counter. We keep usage statistics on all periodicals and therefore ask that patrons do not shelve on your own. Periodicals are shelved at least twice a day, but if a bound volume appears to be missing from the shelves, please ask for it at the Circulation Counter, and we will check the reshelve area for you.

Electronic Journals

You can view a list of electronic journals available to Trinity students, staff, and faculty via the Electronic Journals page. You will need your Trinity login and password to access these items from off campus. Articles are available in either full-text for full-page image format.
